Nativity Mice Sets

Nativity Mice Sets

A nativity that children are allowed to touch. Ours is cast entirely in felt mice, built up a piece at a time so a family can add to it year on year rather than buying the whole scene at once.

The pieces

  • Nativity Mice Family Set — £39.99. Joseph, Mary and baby Cheesemus, tucked into his own straw-filled manger.
  • Shepherd and Sheep Nativity Set — £24.99. A shepherd mouse standing watch over his small sheep.
  • Three Wise Mice — £39.99. Three travellers bearing appropriately tiny gifts.
  • Angel Gabriel Mouse — £19.99. Wings, halo, and an announcement to make.
  • Benedict the Nativity Donkey — £19.99. Patient, as donkeys are.
  • Classic Nativity Set — £54.99 and The Complete Nativity Set — £122.99, both bundled at a saving on the individual pieces.

How they are made

Each figure is designed in Faringdon, Oxfordshire by award-winning British designer Sonia Spencer and needle felted by hand from organic lamb's wool by skilled craftspeople in India, on fair trade terms. Felt does not shatter, which is the practical argument for a nativity at toddler height; the sentimental argument is that a hand-felted scene gets a little softer and more familiar every December. Each set arrives in a free gift box.

Frequently asked questions

Can I build the nativity up over several years?

Yes — that is how most people buy it. Start with the Family Set or the Shepherd and Sheep and add a piece each Christmas.

Is it safe for young children?

Felt does not break, so it is far more forgiving than a ceramic or glass nativity. As with all our Tiny Animals, these are decorative keepsakes rather than toys, best enjoyed from around three years upwards with an adult nearby.

How big are the figures?

Roughly palm height, about 10cm, so the full scene sits comfortably on a mantelpiece or hall table.

Where are they made?

Designed in Oxfordshire and hand felted in India from organic lamb's wool, coloured with eco-friendly Swiss dyes.

When should I order?

As early as you can — the sets are made by hand in limited numbers and tend to go well before December.
