Christmas Tiny Animals

Christmas Tiny Animals

The Tiny Animals put on winter clothes in about October. There is a Father Christmas Mouse with a sack of treasures, a Christmas Pudding Mouse, a Skiing Mouse, a Winter Woolies Sheep, and a small fleet of foxes — Rusty holding a present, Felix with a Noel balloon, Hunter cradling a robin, and Tod in his stripy scarf. Most are £19.99.

They are small enough to stand on a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a laid Christmas table, and light enough to hang if you would rather. Unlike a tree decoration, they do not need to come down in January — a good many people leave the foxes out all winter.

The nativity, in mice

The nativity sets live here too: Mary, Joseph and baby Cheesemus in his manger at £39.99, the Shepherd and Sheep at £24.99, the Three Wise Mice at £39.99, and Angel Gabriel Mouse and Benedict the Donkey at £19.99 each. The Classic Nativity Set is £54.99 and the Complete Nativity Set £122.99, both a saving on buying the pieces separately.

How they are made

Every Christmas Tiny Animal is designed in Faringdon, Oxfordshire by award-winning British designer Sonia Spencer and needle felted by hand from organic lamb's wool by skilled craftspeople in India, on fair trade terms, using eco-friendly Swiss dyes. The wool is worked with a barbed needle rather than moulded or machine-formed, so no two are ever quite identical. Each arrives in a free gift box.

Frequently asked questions

Festive mice, sheep, foxes and bears at £19.99, plus complete nativity sets from £24.99 to £122.99.

Are they decorations or ornaments?

Both — they stand on their own on a shelf or table, and several can be hung on a tree. For pieces designed specifically to hang, see our Christmas tree decorations.

Where are they made?

Designed in Oxfordshire and hand felted in India from organic lamb's wool. Our Christmas stockings are wet felted in Nepal.

How should I store them?

In a dry, sealed box out of direct sunlight. Spot clean with a soft cloth dampened with cool water.

When should I order for Christmas?

Early. Everything is made by hand in limited numbers and the popular characters sell out well before December.
